Project Summary
The Light and Hard Times of Lucky Briscoe is a true-crime comedy series created by Al Munteanu for BriskPace Unlimited, the new-formats label from German production company BriskPace Studios. Jason Hazeley, known for his work on BBC's Cunk on Earth, serves as showrunner, with Joe Markham writing. The series follows Lucky, an orangutan whose journey took him from Communist Romania through careers as a sitcom star, guru, cult leader, fashion icon, and politician before landing in federal prison. The pilot has been completed using AI-generated imagery and music under human creative direction, co-produced with AiMation, the AI studio that BriskPace Unlimited part-owns. Munteanu is creator and executive producer, co-directing with AiMation founder Tom Paton. The project is currently being shopped to buyers and will also go direct to audiences, with first-look footage unveiled at MIA market in Rome in October 2026.
