An old-money family comes together at their isolated family estate in Nonquitt, Massachusetts, under the pretext of celebrating their grandma Phyllis’ birthday. But really they have come to ship the heavily (and perhaps forcefully) tranquilized matriarch Phyllis off to a nursing home and vie for the lion's share of a vast inheritance in her wake.
