Project Summary
Laird is a new drama series for Paramount+ starring Kenneth Branagh as the Laird of Castle Drummoch, a proud Scottish landowner determined to protect his ancestral lands from an American billionaire's land-grabbing ambitions. Created by Jez Butterworth, John-Henry Butterworth, and Georgia Lee—the team behind The Agency and MobLand—the series explores family feuds, buried secrets, and star-crossed romances set in the modern Scottish Highlands. Joe Wright, known for Pride & Prejudice, Atonement, and Darkest Hour, will direct the pilot. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with Branagh executive producing alongside David C. Glasser, the Butterworth brothers, Wright, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Charles Finch, and Keith Cox. Paramount+ has greenlit the project as its third collaboration with Butterworth and 101 Studios.
