Project Summary
House of Guerrero marks Gina Rodriguez's theatrical directorial debut, a boxing drama she's producing alongside Justin Baldoni through Wayfarer Studios. The film, written by Bernardo Cubría from an original story by Rodriguez and Cubría, centers on a young fighter battling for redemption in the ring. The production brings together 1Community's Scott Budnick and Ameet Shukla, Rodriguez's I Can And I Will Productions with Molly Breeskin, and Baldoni with Andrew Calof at Wayfarer. Fight choreography is being led by Clayton J. Barber and Eric Brown, veterans of Creed, Black Panther, and John Wick franchises. Filming in California, the project is currently in pre-production with casting underway. The reunion marks the first collaboration between Rodriguez and Baldoni since their Jane the Virgin days, with the film aiming to center Latino stories and characters in the boxing genre.
