Project Summary
Counsels is an eight-part legal drama currently in post-production for BBC One, BBC Scotland, and BBC iPlayer. Co-created by Bryan Elsley (Skins, The Crow Road) and Gillian McCormack, the series follows six young lawyers—Jamie, Bav, Nadine, Alasdair, Katie, and Karina—as they navigate the competitive Glasgow legal landscape several years after graduating from university. The ensemble includes Brandon Grace, Ro Kumar, Eilidh Park, George Prentice, Alyth Ross, and Rebecca Bell, supported by established talent including Michelle Gomez, Derek Riddell (Happy Valley), Laura Haddock, Daniela Nardini, Michael Nardone, and Sally Howitt. Produced by Balloon Entertainment in partnership with BBC Scotland and co-produced with ZDFneo, the series was filmed entirely in Glasgow from September 2025 through late fall. Lynsey Miller and Siri Rødnes direct, with Brian Kaczynski producing. The show represents BBC Scotland's largest drama investment in over a decade and is slated for an early 2027 premiere.
