Animated Sherlock

Animated Sherlock is an adult-oriented animated television series in development at Harry King Television. The project adapts CEO Nicholas Sercombe's The Unexpurgated Adventures of Sherlock Holmes book series, which presents Arthur Conan Doyle's classic detective stories as if the original accounts were sanitized for Victorian morality. David Lipman, producer of the first two Shrek films, is heading up the creative team alongside writers Michael Ryan and Tim John. The series is planned with season-long mystery arcs while individual episodes connect to original Sherlock Holmes cases, exploring the backgrounds of Holmes, Watson, Mrs. Hudson, and Professor Moriarty. Harry King Television's London-based scripted division is developing the project as part of its True Sherlock franchise, though no network or streaming partner has been announced and no production timeline has been set.
