4MK is a television series adaptation of J. D. Barker's bestselling crime thriller novels, currently in development with Balboa Productions and showrunner Channing Powell. The series will draw from Barker's 4MK trilogy—The Fourth Monkey, The Fifth to Die, and The Sixth Wicked Child—as well as an upcoming prequel trilogy. Set in Chicago, the story follows Detective Sam Porter as he pursues the elusive Four Monkey Killer, a serial murderer guided by the maxim 'hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil,' who exposes hidden corruption by punishing the guilty through those they love. Powell, who co-created Tales of the Walking Dead and currently serves as co-executive producer on MGM+'s From, will write and serve as showrunner. Sylvester Stallone executive produces through his Balboa Productions alongside D. Matt Geller. Balboa Productions has a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios, though no network has been announced for this project. No production start date or casting details have been revealed.
