Project Summary
Women Like Us reunites four Hollywood veterans—Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams, and Vivica A. Fox—for a Netflix comedy directed by Tasha Smith. The project marks the first collaboration between Higher Ground, the production company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama, and MACRO Film Studios, led by Charles D. King. Smith directs from an original screenplay by Ali Kinney, with additional writing by Tracy Oliver. James Lopez and Poppy Hanks are producing for MACRO alongside Anikah McLaren and Mark R. Wright for Higher Ground, with Michelle Obama and Charles D. King executive producing. Production is scheduled to begin this fall in New York City, with filming expected to take place over a single month between late September and October.
