Project Summary
Witch Hunt is a new Netflix thriller series starring Sarah Lancashire as August Howell, a descendant of the 'Witch of Cambridge' who returns home after three decades in prison for killing her daughters. Written and created by Abi Morgan, the series reunites Lancashire with the writer more than 25 years after they last collaborated. When August's return sparks fears of a modern witch hunt in the university town, police turn to her last surviving daughter, Professor Wren Howell, an investigative psychologist, to help find a killer as past resentments and local folklore collide. SISTER Pictures produces, with Morgan, Lancashire, and Jane Featherstone serving as executive producers. The series is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2028.
