Project Summary
Vagina Dentata marks the fiction feature debut of Norwegian filmmaker Nataša Urban, whose documentary The Eclipse won the main Dox:Award at CPH:DOX in 2022. This surreal horror explores motherhood and postnatal depression through the story of a 40-year-old artist experiencing violent thoughts on her first night with her newborn. The project is produced by Ingvil Giske through Norway's Medieoperatørene, with Romanian outfit Manifest Film joining as co-producer. Dana Bunescu, editor of the acclaimed 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, has signed on as editor. Currently 60% financed with support from the Norwegian Film Institute, the film is being pitched at the Nordic Co-Production Market in Haugesund as part of New Nordic Films, where producers are seeking additional funding, co-production partners, and sales representation.
