Project Summary
Tough Love is an eight-episode comedy series now filming in Sydney for Australian streamer Binge. Created, written by, and starring Rick Donald, the series follows Kerry Hart (Miranda Otto) as she confronts a cancer diagnosis and the alarming realization that her adult children—39-year-old Shane (Donald), daughter Steph (Liz Kingsman), and middle son Rodney (Hugo Johnstone-Burt)—are incapable of managing life without her. Jay Ryan plays Mick, Kerry's partner. The series is directed by Trent O'Donnell and Madeleine Dyer, the team behind Binge's breakout comedy Colin from Accounts. Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia is producing with funding from Foxtel, Screen Australia, and Screen NSW. Principal photography is underway across Sydney locations, with the series scheduled to premiere on Binge in 2027.
