Sleepless Nights 2

Sleepless Nights 2 is targeting an April or May 2027 shoot in Cairo and other Egyptian locations. The sequel reunites original screenwriter Tamer Habib with director Karim El Shenawy and is being produced through a partnership between Cairo Films and Al Arabia Cinema International, with producer Wesam Seif Elislam at the helm. While the 2003 original followed four couples over an extended period, the sequel will compress its narrative into just two days, shifting focus to a younger generation navigating relationships more than two decades later. Habib recently completed the first draft of the screenplay and is now working on the second draft. The project marks the first collaboration between Habib and El Shenawy, and Al Arabia Cinema International will handle distribution as the holder of the Sleepless Nights intellectual property.
