Project Summary
Shy & Lola is a six-part darkly comic drama heading into pre-production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with German broadcaster ZDFneo joining as international partner. The series stars Hayley Squires as Shy, a cleaner dreaming of escape to Portugal, and Bel Powley as Lola, an ex-model turned grifter who arrives in town with trouble on her heels. When a murder pulls them into the local criminal underworld, the unlikely duo discover a surprising talent for crime. Written by Amanda Coe and produced by Clerkenwell Films—the Emmy and BAFTA-winning company behind Baby Reindeer—the series is adapted from the French drama Cheyenne and Lola. Sam Donovan serves as lead director, with Nadia Jaynes producing and Rachelle Constant executive producing for Clerkenwell.
