Shibboleth

Shibboleth marks the feature directorial debut of writer-director Alexandra Matheou, following her award-winning short films including A Summer Place. Greek actress Mary Mina has been cast in the female lead role for this surrogacy drama that explores an unconventional polyamorous relationship set on an island. The project is a co-production between Cyprus and Greece, with Homemade Films producing alongside Bark Like a Cat Films and France's La Cellule Productions, with support from the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture. Shooting is planned for summer 2027 in Cyprus and Greece. The project is currently in its financing and casting stage and was selected for Cannes 2026 Focus CoPro, which showcases first features at an early development stage.
