Project Summary
Otherwise Engaged is a romantic comedy gearing up for pre-production, with a March 2027 shoot scheduled in New York. The project marks the directorial debut of Suzanne Farwell, longtime producer and collaborator with Nancy Meyers on films including The Holiday and It's Complicated. Farwell co-wrote the script with Gabriel Mizrahi. The film stars Halle Berry, Colin Firth, Zoë Kravitz, and Jack Whitehall in a generational rom-com about a couple whose parents' unexpected romance threatens to derail their wedding plans. Susan Cartsonis and Farwell are producing for Resonate Entertainment, with Laura Rister producing for Esme Grace Pictures. Mister Smith Entertainment is handling international sales and launching pre-sales at the 2026 TIFF Market, while CAA Media Finance manages U. S. rights. With an ensemble cast and experienced producing team behind it, the project is actively packaging ahead of production.
