Love Diptych is heading into production this month in Romania, with director Radu Jude returning to his home country after premiering The Diary of a Chambermaid at Cannes in May. The low-budget independent feature, working with just half a million euros, will shoot for 13 days in the villages of Dârza and Sitaru outside Bucharest. Jude reunites with his core team—cinematographer Marius Panduru, editor Cătălin Cristuțiu, and costume designer Cireșica Cuciuc—alongside actors Oana Maria Zaharia, Nicoleta Hâncu, Șerban Pavlu, and Gabriel Spahiu. The film is a co-production between Saga Film in Romania, RTF Productions in Brazil, Faliro House in Greece, and Forefilms in Ukraine. Production is scheduled to begin between June 10 and 24, 2026, with a winter or spring 2027 festival premiere anticipated.
