Global pop superstar Nia Vale appears to have it all — chart-topping fame, a devoted fanbase, and a picture-perfect marriage to the magnetic Marcus — but behind closed doors she is trapped in a campaign of psychological and physical abuse that escalates with every headline. When Marcus refuses to give her a moment alone after her final tour stop, Nia executes a desperate escape plan hatched with her loyal makeup artist Johnny, vanishing into anonymity as a fugitive from her own fame. Her flight from a seedy motel to her estranged mother's home to a struggling farm run by the plainspoken widow Dani forces Nia to rediscover who she is without a stage or a controlling husband — even as Marcus, aided by his conflicted police-officer best friend Kelvin, closes in using surveillance, manipulation, and eventually murder to drag her back. As Marcus's cruelty turns lethal and Dani's own family fights to steal her land out from under her, the two women's parallel battles for survival converge in a violent reckoning that forces Nia to choose between silence and reclaiming her voice — on her own terms, in front of the whole world.
