Untitled Jaime Alemán Documentary

Panamanian filmmaker Abner Benaim is in production on an untitled documentary following Jaime Alemán, a lawyer, diplomat, and world traveler who became the first human to complete the 'Grand Slam of Travel'—visiting all 193 UN countries, both poles, and flying to space aboard Blue Origin in 2025. Daniel Junge, the Oscar and Emmy-winning director of 'Saving Face,' joins as executive producer, marking his second collaboration with Benaim following 'Tropical Paradise.' Produced by Benaim's Apertura Films, the documentary combines expedition filmmaking with intimate access, following Alemán on journeys to remote locations including Tristan da Cunha, Oymyakon, and Death Valley. The film has already shot in the Azores, Brazil, Toronto, and Panama, with upcoming production scheduled in Bangkok, Bhutan, and Pakistan. The documentary also follows Alemán's daughter Sofi as she pursues visiting all 193 countries, aiming to become the first father-daughter team to achieve this milestone.
