Project Summary
Unbeaten is a theatrical feature film reuniting Ralph Fiennes with Conclave producer Tessa Ross at House Productions and StudioCanal. Fiennes stars as Sir Henry Cecil, the 10-time UK champion racehorse trainer whose later career was marked by tabloid scandal, health crises, and professional setbacks before his remarkable comeback with Frankel, considered by many the greatest European racehorse ever. Nora Fingscheidt, whose The Outrun earned two BAFTA nominations, directs from a screenplay by Bash Doran. The production team includes Rory Aitken for Escapade Pictures and backing from BBC Film and Access Entertainment. StudioCanal is fully financing and will release theatrically across UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia, and New Zealand. Production is targeting a 2027 shoot, with the project currently in advanced development.
