Three Incestuous Sisters

Three Incestuous Sisters is currently filming on the volcanic island of Stromboli off Sicily and in Rome, with principal photography that began in April 2026. Italian director Alice Rohrwacher helms this adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger's gothic illustrated novel, working from a screenplay she co-wrote with novelist Ottessa Moshfegh. The cast includes Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, and Jessie Buckley as the three sisters, with Josh O'Connor as the lighthouse keeper's son and Mick Jagger as the lighthouse keeper. Isabella Rossellini also stars. The film is financed and produced by Indian Paintbrush, with Johnson producing through her TeaTime Pictures banner alongside Ro Donnelly and Steven Rales. Fandango serves as the Italian line producer, and Hélène Louvart is the cinematographer. The production is shooting as a black-and-white silent film with ten weeks of filming planned through late May or early June. This marks Rohrwacher's first English-language project following her Cannes successes with The Wonders and Happy as Lazzaro.
