Project Summary
The Day is an eight-part British drama series now in production for Paramount+, adapted from the 2018 Belgian series De Dag. The thriller unfolds across a single day when police stumble upon a bank robbery mid-heist, forcing the criminals to barricade themselves inside. Minnie Driver leads the cast as DI Sylvia 'Vox' Voxley, a hostage negotiator racing against time and mounting pressure to save the hostages. The series employs a unique narrative structure, opening from the police perspective before rewinding to show events through the eyes of the robbers and hostages inside the bank, with each episode shifting viewpoints. Luca Pasqualino and Louisa Harland co-star in the production from Dynamic Television and Clapperboard Studios. Ben Harris and Jesse O'Mahoney wrote the series, with Andy Tohill and Ryan Tohill directing. The series will premiere on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland, with Dynamic Television handling international distribution.
