Project Summary

Space Unicorn is an independently produced animated feature from Spiridellis Bros. Studios, the AI-powered animation company founded by brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis. The film follows Astraluna Opal, a wide-eyed misfit unicorn who represents the last spark of joy in Unicornopolis, a society worn down by rainbow delivery duties. When she and her reluctant sidekick wind up stranded on a distant planet, they must confront a techno-tyrant bent on replacing authentic joy with synthetic happiness. Evan and Gregg Spiridellis are directing from a script co-written with Marc Haimes, whose credits include the Academy Award-nominated Kubo and the Two Strings. Gary Foster produces under his Krasnoff Foster Production banner, with Tracie Fiss handling casting. The project is inspired by musician Parry Gripp's viral song and is being shopped to buyers at the Cannes market. The studio launched in October 2025 with backing from investors including Polaris Founders Capital, Caruso Ventures, Google's AI Futures Fund, and Ashton Kutcher.
