República Luminosa

República Luminosa is a psychological thriller in development from acclaimed Guatemalan director Jayro Bustamante, whose previous films include the Golden Globe-nominated La Llorona and Berlin prize-winner Ixcanul. The project adapts Spanish author Andrés Barba's award-winning 2021 novel A Luminous Republic, following a town official named Daniel whose search for answers about the mysterious children spirals into obsession. RT Features, the production company behind Call Me By Your Name and I'm Still Here, is fully financing the film, with Lucky Number handling international sales and CAA Media Finance managing domestic rights. While no production timeline has been announced, RT Features producer Rodrigo Teixeira confirmed plans to shoot the film in Guatemala, continuing the company's expanding international slate.
