Project Summary
A reboot of the classic series, Reading Rainbow is returning with a digital series and a new host, Mychal Threets (known as Mychal the Librarian on social media). A creation of Buffalo Toronto Public Media (BTPM), Reading Rainbow premiered in 1983 as a wildly successful approach for using television to inspire children's love of reading and build lasting connections between kids and books. Renewing its mission for a new generation, the program is back with a new digital platform and a new host, social media librarian Mychal Threets. Initial exhibition on YouTube (Reading Rainbow channel), Sony Kids channel, and Kidzuko. Shooting September 15, 2026 in New York City.
