Project Summary
Pumping Black is a psychological thriller centered on Taylor Mace, a 35-year-old professional cyclist facing the end of his career. Director Mimi Cave helms the project from a screenplay by Haley Hope Bartels, with Jonathan Bailey and Natalie Portman leading the cast. The film follows Mace as he becomes entangled with Andrea Lathe, a doctor driven by ambition and power, who pushes him toward increasingly dangerous measures to protect a dark secret as the Tour de France approaches. Anton is fully financing the production, with Stacey Sher producing alongside Cave, Sébastien Raybaud, and Portman and Sophie Mas from MountainA. Amazon acquired worldwide rights in a major Cannes market deal. Production is scheduled to begin fall 2026, positioning the film as an opportunity for crew and department heads specializing in character-driven thrillers.
