Operation Epic Fury

Michael Bay is developing a military action film for Universal Pictures centered on the April 2026 rescue operation that extracted two downed U. S. Air Force pilots from Iran's Zagros Mountains during Operation Epic Fury. Bay directs from a script by Scott Gardenhour, adapting Mitchell Zuckoff's forthcoming book on the mission (HarperCollins, 2027). Bay and producer Erwin Stoff reunite after their collaboration on 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which also adapted a Zuckoff book. The rescue mission took place after an F-15E Strike Eagle was shot down in early April, with both the pilot and weapons systems officer successfully recovered in what has been described as one of the most complex extraction operations in recent U. S. military history. No production start date has been announced.
