Project Summary
Murder in Paradise (Ubojstvo u raju) is a six-episode crime drama series entering pre-production as the first international adaptation of the BBC's global hit Death in Paradise format. Director Jelena Gavrilović leads the project, with screenwriters Sonja Tarokić and Valentina Batalić adapting the format for Croatian audiences. CGM Films produces the series for Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT), with Bruno Mustić and Ivan Lovreček serving as producers—the same team behind the successful HRT series Sram. The production will film on the island of Brač, with a base in the town of Supetar, bringing the signature blend of murder mysteries, humor, and island atmosphere to the Adriatic coast. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in spring 2027, with the series commissioned for primetime broadcast on HRT1. The adaptation marks BBC Studios' first international format sale of Death in Paradise, developed under format license and aimed at Croatian and regional audiences while maintaining the original's distinctive character-driven crime-solving approach.
