About

Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT / Hrvatska radiotelevizija) is Croatia's national public service broadcaster and one of the oldest European public broadcasting organizations, founded in 1926 as Radio Zagreb and rebranded in 1990 following Croatian independence. HRT operates four national television channels (HRT 1, HRT 2, HRT 3, HRT 4), three national and eight regional radio stations, an international channel (HRT International), and a streaming platform (HRTi), producing approximately 18,000 hours of programming annually. The Republic of Croatia is HRT's founder, with governance rights exercised by the Croatian Government and its Director General appointed by the Croatian Parliament (Sabor). HRT is also a major producer and co-producer of Croatian films and holds significant influence across Southeast European public broadcasting.
