King Snake
Project Summary
King Snake has entered production in Arkansas, marking director Jeff Nichols' deliberate push into horror territory. Margaret Qualley and Drew Starkey star as a young couple who inherit a remote farm in rural Arkansas, only to discover violent supernatural forces tied to the land's past. Michael Shannon returns for his seventh collaboration with Nichols. The project reunites Nichols with cinematographer Adam Stone and production companies Tri-State Pictures (Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Sarah Green producing) and Range Media Partners. FilmNation Entertainment is financing and handling worldwide sales, marking the first production under the company's new Chief Creative Officer, Stacey Snider. Shooting began in late April 2026 in Arkansas, where Nichols returns to the Southern gothic roots that defined his earlier work while exploring darker, myth-driven territory.
