King Conan

King Conan returns Arnold Schwarzenegger to his signature role in a legacy sequel set up at 20th Century Studios. Christopher McQuarrie, known for directing the last four Mission: Impossible films, is attached to write and direct. The story follows an older Conan who has ruled for four decades, grown weary of the throne, and now faces challengers who see his age as weakness. Schwarzenegger describes the project as his Unforgiven, comparing it to Clint Eastwood's acclaimed Western that used the actor's age to deepen the character. Production is targeting a 2027 start, with Fredrik Malmberg of Conan Properties International confirming the deal between CPI, Schwarzenegger, and 20th Century Studios is in place. Schwarzenegger has expressed interest in having original Conan the Barbarian director John Milius involved as a producer.
