Project Summary
Drifter is an action thriller currently filming throughout Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, starring Kate Beckinsale as Wendy Ford, an interim police chief determined to prove herself worthy of her late father's badge. When she arrests a mysterious drifter with a hidden past, her isolated station comes under siege from impostor federal agents and a heavily armed mercenary team seeking to free her prisoner. Forced into an uneasy alliance with the enigmatic stranger, Ford must uncover the truth behind the attack. Directed by Randall Emmett, the production also features Dermot Mulroney, Robert Knepper, and rapper Sticky Fingaz, along with Bill Sage, Beau Bommarito, Ema Horvath, Maia Kai, and John Cerasani. Convergence Entertainment, founded by Emmett and Joel Cohen, is producing and fully financing the film in association with Dream Team Films. With a reported budget of $17 million and 26 planned shoot days across 193 days of production activity in Ohio, the film is taking advantage of the state's film-friendly infrastructure and tax incentives.
