Dock

Dock is a biographical feature film that has moved into pre-production after more than a decade in development. Jack Begert, whose debut feature Little Death won the NEXT Innovator Award at Sundance 2024, will direct from his own script. Oscar-nominated producer David Permut leads the producing team under his Permut Presentations banner, joined by Joel Reilly and Patrick Peterson of Undisputed Pictures. The project also features Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz as executive producers through Dreamscape Entertainment, with Jasper Graham as consulting producer. The film is based on a spec script by Joey Poach and will explore Ellis' twelve-year major league career, primarily with the Pittsburgh Pirates, his fierce advocacy for racial equality in baseball, and his journey through substance abuse to becoming a drug counselor. With new casting talks underway following O'Shea Jackson Jr.' s departure, the production is positioning itself for an active crewing phase.
