David Alan Permut is an Academy Award-nominated, Emmy-nominated, and Grammy-winning film and television producer whose four-decade career spans over 40 features, TV movies, and documentaries. He is the founder and president of Permut Presentations, Inc. (est. 1979), based in Beverly Hills, CA. Known for a gift for finding and adapting true stories, his credits range from blockbusters like Face/Off and Hacksaw Ridge to critically acclaimed TV films like Prayers for Bobby, and recent prestige projects including Rustin (Netflix/Obama's Higher Ground Productions) and the Sundance award-winning Twinless (2025). He is also a co-development partner with Japan's The Seven studio (under TBS) for an upcoming US-Japan film project.
