Dirty Towel

Dirty Towel has wrapped principal photography on its feature expansion, with co-writer/directors Callie Carpinteri (in her feature directorial debut) and Emma Parks adapting their award-winning Tribeca Festival short. The indie drama stars Emma Parks, Kristen Connolly, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Conor Sherry, Sandrine Holt, and Oscar nominee Lesley Ann Warren. Set in the weeks leading up to high school graduation, the film follows Charlie and her mother Elizabeth as they confront inherited trauma and societal expectations around sexuality and self-worth, complicated by the return of Charlie's judgmental grandmother. Production filmed in the Chicago area with a predominantly female crew—more than 77 percent women, including an all-female above-the-line team. Stacey Rice of Chrystie Street Casting handled casting, with Cassidy Campbell producing alongside Carpinteri and Parks.
