Dinner at Nick's
Project Summary
Dinner at Nick's is an independent political thriller written and directed by Mark Brown, creator of the Barbershop film franchise. Jonathan Majors stars in the chamber piece, which takes place over the course of one evening as seven longtime friends—divided between Black Democrats and Black Republicans—attempt to process the 2024 election results over dinner. What begins as an intimate gathering quickly spirals into a pressure cooker of political, cultural, and generational tensions, with old friendships tested as discussions about race, gender, and political identity expose deep divisions. The film is produced by Jonah Hirsch, AJ Munoz, and Manny Hailey. Production is scheduled to begin early summer 2026, with the project announced at the Cannes Market.
