Dark Ocean

Dark Ocean marks the debut feature from Glassriver's newly launched film division, with director Baldvin Z at the helm. The intense seafaring drama is written by Matthías Tryggvi Haraldsson and follows a young deckhand navigating his first voyage aboard an Icelandic fishing trawler, where masculinity, grief, and survival collide in a claustrophobic environment. The cast includes Baltasar Kormákur, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Þorsteinn Bachmann, and Thorvaldur Kristjansson. Producers Guðgeir Arngrímsson at Glassriver and Christine Haebler at Canada's Terminal City Pictures are preparing the Iceland-Canada co-production for a fall 2026 shoot. Rocket Science has boarded worldwide sales and launched the project at the Cannes Film Festival market.
