Cunk on Cinema

Cunk on Cinema marks the return of Philomena Cunk, the beloved ill-informed documentarian played by Diane Morgan, for her first outing in two years. The three-part mockumentary series sees Cunk investigating the world's love affair with movies, covering the invention of the camera through the French New Wave of the 1960s to modern CGI and AI technology. Created by Morgan and Charlie Brooker, the series features interviews with industry figures including director Michael Bay, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, composer Daniel Pemberton, screenwriter Steven E. de Souza, cinematographer Seamus McGarvey, and film critics Mark Kermode and Mark Cousins. Al Campbell directs all three episodes, with Pacesetter Productions producing for BBC Two and BBC iPlayer in the UK, with Netflix handling international distribution outside the UK and Ireland. Production was underway as of April 2026, with the series expected to debut before the end of 2026.
