Project Summary
ComicView: Rooftop Series is heading into its second season at BET, following a successful debut that ranked as cable's top new unscripted series among Black viewers this summer. The renewed stand-up showcase will feature 60 comedians across 20 episodes, all filmed on a Hollywood rooftop. Chris "CP" Powell returns as host after guiding Season 1's 10-episode run. Season 2's lineup includes veteran comics Affion Crockett, Cocoa Brown, Lavell Crawford, and Luenell alongside emerging talent. Executive producer Jeru Tillman returns for Southfield Village Entertainment, with Royale Watkins producing. The series films at the Paramount Building rooftop in Los Angeles. BET Studios' Aisha Summers-Burke described the renewal as proof that audiences remain hungry for the ComicView format, which originally launched in 1992 and helped establish careers for D. L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, and Sommore.
