Chicks

Chicks is a dramedy pilot in pre-production at Hulu, starring Jodie Whittaker and Ellen Pompeo as estranged half-sisters navigating the rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods of old Boston. The pilot follows Chickie and Doreen, who are both struggling financially when their wise-guy father unexpectedly dies, leaving them only a legacy of two-bit crime. Inspired by their inheritance, the sisters team up to run increasingly audacious frauds, with their odd-couple bond strengthening as they fill the father-shaped hole in each other's hearts. Katie Robbins created and wrote the pilot, which was developed specifically for Pompeo based on conversations the two had while working together on Good American Family. Pompeo executive produces under her Calamity Jane banner alongside Laura Holstein, with Robbins also executive producing. The pilot is produced by 20th Television and is eyeing a September 2026 production start in New York City.
