A jaded romance writer and a struggling literary author, living in neighboring beach houses, strike a deal to overcome writer's block. Augustus will write something happy, while January aims to pen the next Great American Novel. Their unconventional pact involves romantic field trips and interviewing survivors of a death cult. The goal is to finish their books without falling in love. It's a purely professional challenge.
