Project Summary
Ants (Mravki) marks the third feature film from Macedonian director Marjan Gavrilovski, who has begun principal photography on the darkly comic drama. The project is produced by Romir Jakupi through Time Lapse Production and has received support from the North Macedonia Film Agency. Gavrilovski, whose previous features include Te dua, I Swear and Horse Riders, tackles a rare topic in Balkan cinema with this story about a homophobic police detective and a trans woman who team up to investigate a murder. The project was developed through the Baltic Event Co-Production Market in 2023 after receiving initial funding support in 2021.
