The North Macedonia Film Agency (NMFA) is a governmental agency established under the Film Industry Law (Official Gazette No. 82/2013) that officially began operations on January 1, 2014, as the legal successor of the North Macedonia Film Fund. Its primary objective is to stimulate and support the development of the Macedonian film industry through continuous funding of films of national interest, support for international co-productions, professional development, domestic screenplay creation, and promotion of Macedonian cinema at international festivals. The Agency also maintains official records of film producers, distributors, and cinema exhibitors in North Macedonia, oversees film classification for minor protection, and promotes North Macedonia as an attractive filming location for foreign producers. It is a member of the European Film Agency Directors (EFADs) association.
