Witch Season

Witch Season is in development at Lionsgate Television as an adaptation of Julia Bianco's debut romantic fantasy novel. Made Up Stories, the production company behind Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, is executive producing through Bruna Papandrea, Casey Haver, Steve Hutensky, and Jeanne Snow. Bianco will write the adaptation and executive produce, with a search currently underway for a showrunner. The series is set in modern-day Los Angeles and centers on Katherine Barnes, a witch enforcer for the Aestas coven who investigates unsettled witches – people unaware they have magic until it explodes catastrophically. When a young witch dies under suspicious circumstances, Katherine must work alongside Silas Khatri, heir to the powerful Noctis coven, to uncover a threat that could destroy the hidden witch world. The novel publishes June 30, 2026 from St. Martin's Press in a two-book deal.
