Project Summary
Wild Zero Overdrive marks director Takeuchi Tetsuro's return to the world of his 1999 cult classic Wild Zero, once again featuring Japanese punk rock band Guitar Wolf. The Japan-Canada co-production is produced by Takegei Company Limited and Toronto-based producer Takabatake Aki. Currently in pre-production with casting underway, the project is seeking gap financing and distribution partners through the Tokyo Gap-Financing Market. Takeuchi has stated he is using the original film as a structural template while updating the story for contemporary audiences, emphasizing raw punk rock energy in what he calls the age of AI. The production is looking to connect with financiers, distributors in Japan and abroad, and international sales agents.
