Project Summary
We Could Be in Love is an independent romantic comedy directed by Filipina filmmaker Marie Jamora, written by Terence Chen. The film stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith as Jasmine Aquino, a working-class Filipina American woman who falls for Ambrose Lee (played by Yao), the wealthy heir to a Chinese-Filipino dynasty. The ensemble cast includes Jamie Chung, Lou Diamond Phillips, Tamlyn Tomita, and Airline Inthyrath (Jujubee from RuPaul's Drag Race). Tiger & Dog Production produces alongside Annie Huang, with Geri Leigh Tiu and Sonca Nguyen as producers. Principal photography begins in November 2026 in New York City and Manila, Philippines.
