Project Summary
War Machine 2 is moving forward at Netflix following the massive streaming success of the first film, which reached 139 million views and entered the streamer's top 10 most popular original movies of all time. Director Patrick Hughes returns to write and direct the sequel with co-writer James Beaufort. The producing team includes Todd Lieberman and Alex Young through Hidden Pictures, Range Media Partners' Rich Cook, and Hughes' producing partner Greg McLean through their Huge Film banner, with Valerie Bleth Sharp executive producing. While no official production timeline has been announced, Hughes indicated the intention is to start on the movie sooner rather than later. The sequel will explore unanswered questions from the first film about the alien threat's origins and purpose, expanding the world while delivering unexpected turns.
