Vanessa Guillén

Mighty Aphrodite Pictures has secured an option agreement to develop an authorized narrative feature based on the life of U. S. Army Specialist Vanessa Guillén. The project is being developed in close collaboration with the Guillén family, with Mayra Guillén and Alejandra Palomera serving as executive producers. Director Jorge Xolalpa, founder and CEO of Mighty Aphrodite Pictures, will helm the film, with Jolene Rodriguez of Broken English Productions producing alongside him. The two companies have also entered into a three-film producing agreement. The film will chronicle Guillén's life and the advocacy work of her family, whose tireless campaigning following her murder inspired the I Am Vanessa Guillén Act and broader legislative reform within the U. S. military regarding sexual harassment and assault reporting.
