Project Summary
Paramount Pictures has greenlit a live-action family comedy inspired by the Medieval Times dinner theater experience, with Eric Appel attached to direct from a screenplay by Blaise Hemingway. The project blends fantasy, adventure, and heart against the backdrop of the immersive Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament show. Appel, who directed Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and The Breadwinner, brings his comedy expertise to the four-quadrant project. John Davis and Chris Bender are producing, with executive producers John Fox, Jeremy Stein, Jake Weiner, Jake Wagner, and Perico Montaner, President and CEO of Medieval Times. The story is set at the Orlando Medieval Times location. The pitch was recently sold to Paramount, marking a revival of development efforts that date back to 2013 when Benderspink first secured rights to the branded property.
