Project Summary
Unarmed Soldier is an India-Canada treaty co-production announced at the Cannes Film Market, telling the story of para cricketer Amir Hussain Lone. Director Nishil Sheth, whose debut feature Bhasmasur earned acclaim on the international festival circuit, will helm the project. The film chronicles Lone's journey from losing both arms in a childhood accident to teaching himself cricket using his legs and feet, eventually captaining the Jammu and Kashmir para cricket team. Indian producers Aarambh Productions and Pickle Entertainment have partnered with Canadian companies including Porter + Craig Film and Media Distribution, Diamond Plus Media, and ZMA Oddflix. The co-production is being structured under the India-Canada audio-visual treaty and targets global theatrical, streaming, and television distribution.
