To Die on Your Feet

To Die on Your Feet (Morir de Pie) is a Chilean-led international co-production moving through development with Mexican actress Ilse Salas attached to star. The project marks the second fiction feature from Chilean director María Paz González, whose debut Lina de Lima premiered at Toronto and won at FIC Valdivia. Lead producer Quijote Films has assembled a six-country co-production team including Spain's Amore Cine, Germany's Sutor Kolonko, Luxembourg's Tarantula, Uruguay's Bocacha, and Mexico's MartFilms. The dramedy follows Cruz, an actress who works as a simulated patient for medical students—a precarious profession now threatened by robotic simulators. The project was pitched at Iberseries & Platino Industria in Madrid in October 2026 and has received backing from the Pfeffer del Sur fund and participated in development programs at San Sebastián, the Berlinale, and Venice Production Bridge.
